New for 2013

In the months since Christmas I have been busily working away on a new collection of jewellery, with a little bit of help from YouTube and my trusty Good Housekeeping Encyclopeadia of Needlecraft.
Whilst sitting at my desk for hours playing with string might not have looked like work it was an important part of the process.
 So far, not very impressive.
 Getting somewhere...
I think I'm onto something!

It was also my first foray into the frankly baffling world of jewellery components, which lead to hours trawling Ebay, Etsy and various other sites trying to find the things I thought I needed.
And once that was resolved I had to splash out on (another) new gadget for my machine, though that was much less confusing.
Is owning 3 different kinds of zipper foot excessive?
And you can see the new collection after the jump!

Double Strand Josephine Brooch in Wiltshire.

Reef Knot Bracelet in Garla and Emilia's Flowers.

Reef Knot Choker Necklace in Emilia's Flowers.
These are just the first examples of this new collection, but I will be making plenty more, and for Summer there will be a new range of colours and patterns to choose from. This range will be in my Etsy shop by mid March, and hopefully in other outlets later in the Spring, but if you're in Liverpool I will be debuting the collection at the Baltic Arts and Craft Fair on the 2nd!

  1. Hi Natalie,
I had to laugh when I saw this post... When I was growing we learned to tie all these knots as part of extra-curricular activities, learning to sail, row and other marine shenanigans. I hated sailing with a passion, as I was, and still am, horribly seasick. None the less, I attended all these lessons dutifully, being a good girl, and at the tender age of 12 produced a board full of these knots, neatly tied in different types of rope. Somehow, this did not improve my attitude towards sailing and as soon as I could, at Year 11, I quit for good!

  2. That sounds like so much fun though! Although I suppose sea sickness would be a problem. I'd never learnt anything like this before, even at Girl Guides, so for me it's all fun!
